On 29th August members Izzy Lola and Dave Dingo Francis completed an incredible 51-mile Ultra marathon (with an elevation gain of over 7000ft) along the Cotswold Way.
With all races being cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the duo decided to challenge themselves and delve into the ultra running world, with what turned out to be an epic adventure, not just on the day, but during weeks of build up training.
The goal...to run all the way from Chipping Camden to Haresfield, without cracking. What started off as a bit of fun for the pair, soon escalated into something with a little more gravity, as Issy found herself being interviewed by both TV and Radio news teams in the days leading up to the run.
Nailing it on the day, the effort was worth every step, as the pair raised £1,100 for the CCP Charity (Caring for Communities and People) in Gloucestershire and completed the (almost!) double-marathon in just over 10 hours. Having not been put off, they've now set their sights on the next goal, which will be a dip into ultra distance racing, starting with a 35 mile race in November.  Rest up, recover well and aim high!
Special thanks to all who supported them during the buildup and on the day & to those who sponsored them via the Just Giving page.
